Ugadi-GudiPadava-New Year:

Start of New year as per Hindu Tradition and One of the SaadheteenMuhurth (Good Day) as per the Indian tradition which all Hindu people treat as Auspicious day for any kind of work/Activities like Purchase of Gold, buying vehicle/car, Start of construction of building, commencement of new business, GruhaPravesh etc. In temple it is celebrated with Vishesh Pooja in the early morning while Samsthaan pooja is going on for Bhakta Kalyanartha and Kalash Sthapanain a later day as a part of ‘GudhiUbharane’ for new year. In the evening ‘PanchnagaVachana’ i.e. all the festival and important days details and the details with regards to any Grahana (Eclipse) for that year, monsoon, Adhika Maas. Etc…

Raam Navami( Birthday Of Shree Raam):

Lord Raam is treated as very holistic in Hindu Mythology. In Ganagapur the same will be celebrated in Dattatreya temple Nirgun Math. Around 12:00 PM an idol which will be same like Shree Raam which called as ‘Utsav Murthy’ in Temple will be kept in Temple Mantap and special pooja will be performed. After Arati, wet Channa Dal/Split Peas and a drink (Teerth) which is of Lemon/Mango will be distributed to each and every one in temple as Prasad of Shree Ram’s Birthday.

Hanuman Jayanti:

Lord Hanuman is treated as very holistic in Hindu Mythology. In Ganagapur the same will be celebrated in Dattatreya temple Nirgun Math. Hanuman who was very abide follower of Shree Raam has many followers nowadays. Around Sunrise time of that day usual will be at06:30AM an idol which will be same like Hanuman with Gada which called as ‘Utsav Murthy’ in Temple will be kept in Temple Mantap and special pooja will be performed. After Aarati, wet Channa Dal/Split Peas and a drink (Teerth) which is of Lemon/Mango will be distributed to each and every one in temple as Prasad of Hanuman’s Jayanti.

Akshay Tritiya :

As per Hindu Tradition and One of the Saadheteen Muhurth (Good Day) as per the Indian tradition which all Hindu people treat as Auspicious day for any kind of work/Activities like Purchase of Gold, buying vehicle/car, Start of construction of building, commencement of new business, GruhaPravesh etc. In temple it is celebrated with Vishesh Pooja in the early morning while Samsthaan pooja is going on for Bhakta Kalyanartha. Akshaya Tritiya’s half day is considered as very good day as 3 Sadheteenmuhurta are as follows: complete days are respective Ugadi, Dusara, DeepavaliPratipada Bali Padya and half day of Akshaya Tritiya.

Shree AadyaJagadguru Shankaracharya Jayanti:

In Hindu tradition “Advaita philosophy “was proposed by Shree Aadya Jagadguru Shankaracharya in ancient years. The same is followed in Ganagapur as well as the tradition was continued by Shree Narasimha Saraswati which has clear explanation in Guru Charitra. On this Auspicious day in Ganagapur will be celebrated with great enthusiasm and celebrated in Dattatreya temple Nirgun Math. Around 12:00 PM an idol which will be same like Shankaracharya which is in Sanyasaavataar which called as ‘Utsav Murthy’ in Temple will be kept in Temple Mantap and special pooja will be performed. Ashadha Shu. 15 Poornima
Guru Poornima:

Guru Purnima(An auspicious day to perform Guru Seva), also known as Vyasa Purnima, is the one of the most celebrated festival in Ganagapur Dattatreya Nirgun Mutt, Deval Ganagapur, It falls on full moon day in Aashaadha month (July) is being celebrated on 31st July 2015. This is the most auspicious day to worship one’s Guru and Guru Parampara. It is also celebrated as special festival in Amaraja Sangam temple where Narasimha Saraswati swami observed penance for several years. On this special day various religious activities like Rudrabhishek, Bhiksha, Nandadeep Seva will be doen while doing samsthaan pooja from 3.00 AM-5.30AM, Annadan, Gurucharitra Parayan, Datta Yagna, and other sevas will be performed in the temple for the welfare of the society. On the same day 5 Guru (who has taken sanyasi deeksha and who treated as Guru) will be called in temple to perform Guru(Vyasa) pooja from Ganagapur Nirgun math samsthan. Vyasa Pooja will be done at 11.00AM-1.00PM.

Shravan Shu. 1
Shravana Maas:

As per Hindu Mythology Shravan maas is treated as Auspicious month to do any kind of religious activities and this month is treated as Shankar(Shivaji’s) month. From 1st day of Shravan maas till Bhadrapada Shu. 5 (Rushi Panchami) daily the sevas like PanchamrutaPurvaka Rudrabhishek chanting mantra’s like Rudra Namak-Chamak, Purushasukta, Shreesukta, Ganapati Atharvasheersh, Manyusukta, Souramantra in the temple from 7.15AM to 9.00AM and Annadan will be at 12.30PM only for specific Bhakta Kalyanartha and on the Monday being said as Shravan Monday special pooja will be performed in the evening from 4.00PM to 6.30 PM and Anandan will be there in evening at 6.30PM on the eve of Pradosha time and akhandanaamasaptaha of “DigambaraDigambara Shreepada Vallabh Digambara” complete Shraavanamaas. Swamy has clearly mentioned in Guru Charitra for the importance of Abhishek doing in the month of Shravan maas as below quote

“AkhandaShravanamaasi, Abhishek KaraavaDevasi, DeeparadhanaKartikamaasi, Ananta PunyaAvadhaara”

Bhadrapada Shu. 4
Shreepada Shree Vallabh Jayanti& Cradle Ceremony (1st Incarnation Of Dattatreya) & Ganesh Chaturthi:

Birthday of Shreepada ShreeVallabh is celebrated in Ganagapur by the temple with enthusiasm. On this special day early morning vishesh pooja in the GarbhaDevasthaan and Paduka pooja will be done.From 11.00AM Bhajan, sankeertan will start in temple. Exactly at 12.00PM a balavigraha (Murthy) will be kept in the Cradle which is placed in the temple premises just opp to main door. Exactly at 12.00 Bala Murthy will bring from Garbhalaya and kept in the cradle for 10 mins, meanwhile in the same time all the people, pilgrims each and every one in temple will chant the song of “Bala Jo Jo re, Sukumaara Dattatreya Avataara, Bala Jo Jo re” which is holy cradle song of Lord Dattatreya. Later the balavigraha will be taken out from cradle and a coconut will be kept in that and everyone can take blessing of that balavigraha later in the Abhishek Hall.In the same day soon after Palana (Cradle function is over) Ganapati Poojan will be done by priests over the temple to the Ganesh idol which has kept in the temple premises as a part of Ganesh Chaturthi festival. 4th day of Ganesh Festival i.e. Bhadrapada Shu.7, Sahasramodaka Ganapati homa/havan will be done in temple for Bhakta Kalyanartha and next day i.e. on Bhadrapada Shu.8 Ganapati Murthy will be immersed in Bheema river in the afternoon.

Devi Navaratra Starts:

Devi Jagadamba i.e. TuljapurAmba Bhavani is the home Godess (Kula Devata) for all the priests over here in Ganagapur and Devi Navaratra is celebrated in very rich manner. A Diya (light lighten by oil) will be kept from each and every house in temple as a part of Deeparadhana in Navaratri and special Naivedya will done in temple and each priests house for the next 9 days until Navaratra completed. In all the priests home they will enlighten 2 diya’s of Oil and 1 Diya of ghee for continuous 9 days till Navaratra completes.

Vijaya Dashami- Dasara- Dusshera:

Vijaya Dashami a victory of Good over Bad/Devil is one of the SaadheteenMuhurth (Good Day) as per the Indian tradition which all Hindu people treat as Auspicious day for any kind of work/Activities like Purchase of Gold, buying vehicle/car, Start of construction of building, commencement of new business, GruhaPravesh etc. In temple it is celebrated with Vishesh Pooja in the early morning while Samsthaan pooja is going on for Bhakta Kalyanartha.

All the Suvasini of Ganagapur will take Arati to Temple to do Mangalarathi to Shree Narasimha Saraswati after coming back again to Temple. This is tradition followed in Ganagapur from very ancestors which we can see now also. It will be a heritage and worth watching at least once in a life time. It will be once the Pallaki arrives in Ganagapur from at the time 06.00PM to 09.00PM.

Vijay Muhurta:

Vijay Muhurta is very auspicious time in Dasara. Even though complete Dasara is treated as good day but Vijay Muhurta is meant to be very auspicious and important. Any purchases, dealing, new starts can be done in this time period hence the return will be always maximum and which will be worthy.

Guru-Dwadashi:

This is the day when 1st Incarnation of Lord Dattatreya i.e. Shree Shreepada Vallabha has ended his avatar. Avataar samapti is called as Nijananda day. On this special day all the special pooja’s will be done in the early morning from3.00AM to 6.00AM by priests itself in temple. On this day special Naivedya will be done by the family called “Chowdapurkars” from Bhandarkhani which is present near by temple.

Naraka Chaturdashi- AshtaTeerthaSnan

Narak Chaturdashi is the start of the festival of Deepavali which is also called as festival of lights as well. This is a special day as thousands of people from different places come to Ganagapur for the sake of doing AshtaTeertha’s. Being this in winter season with very low temperature on the Bank of river Bhima, people get much energy to complete AshtaTeertha’s as swamy has done the Ashthateertha on this day and has taken bhiksha from 8 different places in the same time by being present in all the 8 places and showed his love and mercy towards his followers/Bhaktagana.

On this day same ritual starts from early morning 3:00AM 6.00AM and later from 7:00AM all the people from Ganagapur and other pilgrims who came from other place will proceed to Sangam to start the AshtaTeertha as the 1st Shatkul Teerth is in Sangam only. There will be Bhajan in the temple before starting of marks towards sangam for AshtaTeertha. A Holy wood called as “DANDI” will be taken from temple to complete AshtaTeertha as mark of Presence of Shree Narasimha Sarawati. After completing all the teerthas i.e. last teerth @ Kalleashwar temple people come towards Main Nirgun Math to take darshan and to present in MahaMangalarathi which will be at 12.30PM. Later Annadan will be distributed to all…

On the day of Naraka Chaturdashi (Deepavali) Shri Guru said to the disciple, ‘We shall have bath at Trishali (3 Holy places i.e. Prayag, Kashi and Gaya) with family and children.

The disciple said, ‘For such a long journey, we require some time for preparations’. Shri Guru says ‘These holy places are near about. So there is no need for special preparation, Shri Guru then takes everyone to Sangam and asks them to take bath in Eight Tirtha’s in Ganagapur and mentioned the importance of each tirtha snana’s.

Kartika Shu. 1
Bali Pratipada, Balipadya, Bali Padami:

Bali Pratipada is a day when Vishnu took avatar as balabrahman to remove Garv (Ego) of Bali Raaja and it is also one of the SaadheteenMuhurth (Good Day) as per the Indian tradition which all Hindu people treat as Auspicious day for any kind of work/Activities like Purchase of Gold, buying vehicle/car, Start of construction of building, commencement of new business, GruhaPravesh etc. In temple it is celebrated with Vishesh Pooja in the early morning while Samsthaan pooja is going on for Bhakta Kalyanartha.

Kartika Shu.5
Kada Panchami/ Pandav Panchami:

This is the day when the Bhaskar Brahman who was abode follower and shishya of shri Guru whose details can be found in Gurucharitra chapter no 38where he fed 4000 people with grains which he has was not even sufficient for 3 people and whose generations are the priests of Ganagapur temple. This day marks the close of Paryaya year (last day of pooja term) for a set of family. The next day i.e. Kartika Shu.6 to next year Kartika Shu.5 (One samvatsara) a new set of priests/family will have the pooja rights in temple for upcoming one year.

Kartika Shu. 15 Poornima
Kartika Poornima:

Kartika Poornima is a full moon day and is also the end of holy bath for “Kartika Snaan” which is started from last full moon day. All Hindu people follow Karthkasnan as its treated as very holy because of Kartika maas is very auspicious for lord Shiva and hence holy bath is very famous and this can also be done at being in your respective house. The holy Kartika snaan means taking bath in early morning before sunrise and before stars goes away from the sky, and timing will be approx. before 5AM in the morning.

It is very auspicious to do the Deeparadhana seva in Kartika maas and people visit Ganagapur in this month to do this seva. Few of the people have belief of lighting 33 Diya’s and donating (doing Daana to Brahmin) 33 Diya will have much importance as well.

This is special day in Ganagapur Nirgun math as well, The Palanquin i.e. Pallakhi of Shree Narasimha saraswati will go for Sangam i.e. where two rivers joins in Ganagapur. Pallakhi will start from Nirgun Math around 12.00PM by walk to sangam and with all Bhajan, holy drum sound. It will reach by around 2.00PM and Deeparadhana will be held in Sangam in the evening and after Managalarthi later Pallakhi will start at 8.00PM to reach to Nirgun Mathand it will reach Nirgun Math by 10.00PM. And all the rituals to close temple will end up by 11.00PM.

Kartika Kr. 1
Vanabhojan:

This is the 2nd day of Kartika maasutsav as the first day Pallaki went to Sangam on the 2nd day also it’s the same. This is special day in Ganagapur Nirgun math as well, The Palanquin i.e. Pallakhi of Shree Narasimha saraswati will go for Sangam i.e. where two rivers joins in Ganagapur. Pallakhi will start from Nirgun Math around 2.00PM by walk to sangam and with all Bhajan, holy drum sound. It will reach by around 3.30PM.

On this day all people from Ganagapur will prepare some special dishes and bring it over in Sangam and have their lunch by sitting on banks of river Bheema and Amarja. They will share their lunch to the people they know and other people also and vice versa.

Deeparadhana will be held in Sangam in the evening and after Managalarthi later Pallakhi will start at 8.00PM to reach to Nirgun Math and it will reach Nirgun Math by 5.00AM early morning very next day. And all the rituals to close temple will end up by 5.30AM. Again after few minutes temple will open for next day programs approx. at 5.40AM. It will be 7.30AM to complete all samsthaanpooja’s and pooja’s from devotees will start at 8.30AM.

This 2 day festival is very important for the people of Ganagapur and hence it will be celebrated in the village irrespective of religions.

Datta Jayanti:

Datta Jayanti is a birth festival of Lord Dattatreya which is celebrated in Ganagapur before a day of full moon day. Normally in other places it is being celebrated on the full moon day. There is a reason behind celebrating it on the previous day as per the shlok in the Padma Puranaa

“Marge Maase Site Pakshe, ChaturdashyamBudhe dine,
RohinyamPrathamYame, HaryavatirnooDigambaraa”

Also it is celebrated at 12.00PM in the temple as swami will come to ask Bhiksha at around 12.00PM in temple and we believe to celebrate the birthday in the presence of Shree Narasimha Saraswati.

On this special day early morning vishesh pooja in the GarbhaDevasthaan and Paduka pooja will be done from early morning 2.00AM to 5.30AM while samsthaan pooja will be done. From 11.00AM Bhajan, sankeertan will start in temple. Exactly at 12.00PM a small vigraha (Murthy) will be kept in the Cradle which is placed in the temple premises just opp to main door. Datta Jayanti- Rathotsava:

This is the 2nd day of Datta Jayanti festival and last day also. On this special day early morning vishesh pooja in the GarbhaDevasthaan and Paduka pooja will be done from early morning 3.00AM to 6.00AM while samsthaan pooja will be done. And later at 12.00 Visheshannadan also be held in temple.

In the evening at 5.00PM car festival will be held just outside the temple. There is car (Ratha) maintained in temple which will be very well decorated by plenty of flowers. Exactly at 5.00PM a Balavigraha (Murthy) will be kept in the Car which will be ready just outside of the main temple entrance. The Car festival began and it will go Hanuman temple which very near to temple and it will do 1 pradakshina to temple and return to temple Nirgun math. Later the Balavigraha will be taken back in the temple and everyone can take blessing of the same in Abhishek hall.

Pousha Shu. 2
Shreeman Narasimha Saraswati Jayanti (2nd Incarnation Of Lord Dattatreya):

Birthday of Narasimha Saraswati is celebrated in Ganagapur by the temple with enthusiasm. On this special day early morning vishesh pooja in the GarbhaDevasthaan and Paduka pooja will be done. From 11.00AM Bhajan, sankeertan will start in temple. Exactly at 12.00PM a balavigraha (Murthy) will be kept in the Cradle which is placed in the temple premises just opp to main door. Exactly at 12.00 Bala Murthy will bring from Garbhalaya and kept in the cradle for 10 mins, meanwhile in the same time all the people, pilgrims each and every one in temple will chant the song of “Bala Jo Jo re, Sukumaara Dattatreya Avataara, Bala Jo Jo re” which is holy cradle song of Lord Dattatreya. Being this is the birthday of swami who lived and blessed Ganagapur people there will be “Sangeet Utsav” in temple for 2 days soon after temple closes at 9.00PM. Famous musicians, classical singer from Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, AP will be called for this program and later after the program there will be felicitation to all the singer’s and other musical artist’s who took participation in the same.

Magha Shu. 1
Shree Dattatreya Navaratra Starts:

The Dattatreya Navaratra starts from the 1st day of Magha maas as per Hindu calendar. It will be for 15 days till Magha poornima. A Diya (light lighten by oil) will be kept from each and every house in temple as a part of Deeparadhana in Navaratri and special Naivedya will done in temple.

Magha Kr. 1
Yatipoojan:

This is the day when 2nd Incarnation of Lord Dattatreya Shri Narasimha Naraswati who lived in Ganagapur for 24 years decided to complete his avatar i.e. Nijanand Day.

In the early morning as Kakada Arati starts at 2.30AM special samsthaan pooja also starts and completes at 6.00AM. This is the special day for pooja in Ganagapur. PS: There will be no Pallaki seva for three days i.e. as per Hindu Calendar Magha Kr.1, 2, 3 as swami has ended his avatar in Ganagapur and went to Shrishailam’sKardalivanam which in deed said as the place where the avatar has ended. These 2 days all the seva in the temple will be there except Pallaki seva as swamy’s presence has not there in temple as per the Guru Charitra.

There will be a YatiPoojan in temple as a tribute to see Shree Narasimha Saraswati in the forms of sanyasi’s of present. On that day atleast 5 Guru’s i.e. sanyasi’s will be called from different places and Guru Pooja will be done and Sanmansatkar will be done on behalf of Nirgun Math to all the Sanyasi’s whose pooja has been done. This Program will be done at 3.00PM to 6.00PM.

Magha Kr. 4
Gopal Kaala:

Gopal Kaala is the day when we have received the confirmation in Ganagapur by getting the flowers in the river that swamy has reached the Shrishailam’sPatal Ganga safely. On this day the Pallakhi will go for Rudrapaad Teerth for bath to witness the flowers which were came as Prasad in the river. This is called as “AvabhratSnaan”. There will be “DahiHandi” Program as same as the program which will be celebrated in the time of Krishna Janmashtami. The DahiHandi program will be held in the temple at 12.00PM once the DahiHandi program is over Pallaki will start for AvabhratSnaan to Rudrapaad Teerth.

From this day Pallaki seva will start in the temple as the Pallaki went to Sangam for holy bath as swami has arrived in Ganagapur.

Magha Kr. 13
Maha Shivaratri:

Maha Shivaratri is followed in Ganagapur Nirgun math by doing fasting all over the day. As per all the special day special pooja will be done in the early morning and Annadaan in the afternoon.

There will be special pooja in the temple which starts at 10.00PM and ends at 3.00AM called as “Yama Pooja”. All the priests of Nirgun Math will join together and do the special Abhishek by chanting Rudrabhishek all the night till 3.00AM. Again later after 3 temple pooja starts as usual.
